A step by step guide on how to get screwed by AdMob

This is a 10 step guide on how to get screwed by AdMob --- based on an actual experience.

1. Invest heavily in developing addictive iPhone and Android apps with great content.

2. Integrate these apps with AdMob's platform, and start serving over 8 Million monthly impressions.

3. Attract reputable brands and launch regional mobile marketing campaigns for them that rely on your apps advertising space.

4. Add funds to your AdMob account to further expand the campaign and place ads not only on your apps but also on AdMob's premium network.

5. Get your account deactivated by AdMob suddenly without any notice, resulting in having all of your campaigns halted, and losing access to all of your apps advertising space

6. Get angry calls from advertising agencies and brands that have signed contracts with you, try to convince them it is a technical problem but fail at doing so.

7. Get sued.

8. Try to contact AdMob by phone but then realize there is no phone support line.

9. Send a professional e-mail to Admob's support, forum managers, and high-level employees, and get absolutely no feedback.

10. Get screwed, and try to find new ways to pay the salaries of your recently hired employees , which were mainly funded by revenues of your mobile marketing campaigns.

  1. its a pity , that a company such big does not cannot provide support via phone.

Not relevant to the topic , but Google always has problem providing support to the consumers/partners

Look at various incidents from google's history.
Level of their support can be calculated from the fact that all the user support is provided on "forums/google groups" be it adsense , admob, android market , nexus one , nexus s etc.

on the contrary look at apple where even CEO's reply to email's

  5. I think you were clearly violating the TOS by using the inhouse Ads to build your own Ad network. You should either build your own Ad servers or you should use an intermediate layer like mobclix on Adwhirl.

  6. Before we use admob, I think we should have our app connect to our personal sever before the app was launched, then it'll decide which ads network will the app work with, when admob account banned, we can't change the network instantly, I've a question , if admob banned, onFailedToReceiveAd() of AdListener will be called ?

  7. Yep, randomly banned too. Message just pops up saying 'this account does not exist'. This happened to me almost 2 years ago. Still no replies from my emails.
